USB Driver and modem

I am working on USB device driver for Modem. I am very much new to writing device driver.

Can any body suggest how to initiate USB driver using internet explorer and selecting a modem for this purpose.

May be my question is abstract but your suggestions are apprecited.

Internet Explorer doesn't run under Linux...it's Windows only.

Also, I've used several different types of USB modems with no problems, using the standard device types (ttyUSB* or ttys*, depending on distro). The PPP dialers have had no problems with any of them, so I'm not sure why you're writing a USB modem device-driver. Good luck, though.

We are taking it as a demo project. I need to initiate driver from user browser.
Can you anybody help in how to call driver from user browser?
