i faced a problem while installing oracle 10g release 2 on linux. My details are as follows. if u have the solution, pliz let me know. regards,

Confusion due to your profile stating RH9.
Please edit your profile. RH9,RHEL-AS4
So modprobe cannot find the module.
Have you checked that the module is in modprobe's search path? Or even present? (Note - installed rpm is not the same as module present and in correct place.) Presumably modprobe is working - so we must take it's error message seriously.
