im working on a pxe server, and it calls for me to mount an iso and copy the contents of the iso into a folder. im using a 8.04 alternate install iso. this is the list of errors i get
No, I didn't I got distracted and started a new project, then a new project. But I will get back at it. I'm trying to unpackage the contents of the iso for a pxe server project.
Using both command line and GUI when trying to unpack it. It first happened on my server and I couldn't copy and paste the error, but now I realize I could have redirected the error and then emailed it to myself but even on a GUI I couldn't get it to work.
What do you mean use rsync? I thought it was just a backup program? I'm trying make a pxe server cause a "client" has a laptop that doesn't have a functioning DVD drive and my flashsticks don't work for some reason, says the os is missing. So I found it can boot off the network. It's an old hp laptop, I can't remember the model or the hardware, but I'm sure it's x86.
yeah, if i could boot off the flashstick that would be the best idea right now just cause its faster, but i would like to get this PXE server going on my VM. im currently in the airport, so im trying to get my server updated, and get a NON-corrupt iso of the alternate installer for ubuntu.
for that PXELinux, so i need to download a package like when i download syslinux?
Howdy, yea it was a corrupt copy of the cd. Niw I got the pxe server running, but ubuntu says I need a properly configured kickstart file. I'm not sure if I need to start a new thread, but I just need a pointer or direction to what I need to know how to configure a ks.cfg file for ubuntu server 9.04. Thanks peeps. And thanks linus76, I'll get back to the multiboot grub flash stick. .
