Unable to configure mplayer

I'm running mandriva 10.2 the free version and using gcc3.3.
When I try to configure mplayer-1.0pre7try2 I get the error:

Error: help/help_mp-en.h not found

But when I go to the /help directory the file is there. Is there a directory that it should be in specifically to configure properly?
I also tried two earlier versions of mplayer(pre7 and 6) with no luck. The 7 gave the same error and the 6 could not find a different file.

You are using Mandriva.
Mandriva has a brilliant and totally painless system for installing / updating software. It is called urpmi. Please search this site for threads on how to use "easy urpmi".

Then configure your sources by going somewhere like this:
http://easyurpmi.zarb.org/

Then install mplayer like this:
su
(give root's password)
urpmi mplayer

Thanks

Thanks for helping me out with that. I wish that I had known about urpmi sooner.
