I have installed the latest RedHat Linux 7.1 in my machine through the text mode. I could not suceed in configuring the X Window system. After giving all necessary information to the XConfigurator, the programs says that there is an error in the configuration. Sometimes the Configuration suceeds and while attempting to start the X server Or issuing startx the monitor blacks out, and the system hangs. I need to reboot using ctrl-alt-del to bring the system back.
I am using a 14" Proview Monitor MODEL PV1455. Please help me in configuring the X windows systems.
When you do the video test, do you see the penguins? Sounds like the monitor isn't being detected right, try using different types of generic monitors, and see if that fixes it.
I used text mode to install Linux. During the Video test, i was not able to see anything the monitor blacks out completely. Is there any change that i need to make in the XF86Config file ?
