re

o.k look ...
i install it but a little difrent from you
i install it just with fasttrack cause that the only one i need, want ..
after finish install this 3 files:
gift
fasttrack
apollon

i run apollon and i get in info this message:

Code:
Connection error
The giFT daemon, which is responsible for connecting to the various networks, appears to be down and I don't seem to able to start it.
Probably your giFT installation is corrupted. Try starting giFT manually by typing "giftd" on the command line. If this gives errors, there's likely some internal error in giFT or in your giFT configuration. Refer to the giFT homepage at http://giftproject.org for help.
and when i write "giftd" for check errors i get this message:

Code:
root@slackware:~# giftd
*** GIFT-FATAL: couldn't load protocol in file /usr/lib/giFT/libOpenFT.la: file not found
*** Often times more information can be found in the log file or with the -v command line switch.
i dont know how to countinue from here ...
hope you can help me with that ..

thanks..
Roy

whatever's wrong, it has nothing to do with slackware, so don't worry about that.

it sounds like it's looking for OpenFT. did you run giftd with the -v flag to get more output? it might help if you posted that along with your giftd.conf file. (you did run gift-setup, right?)

How about installing the missing bits? gift is just a wrapper
(clearly explained on both the website and in the README).
You'll also need
Code:
gift-gnutella-0.0.9.2.tar.bz2 gift-openft-0.2.1.3.tar.bz2
to actually make use of it ...

Cheers,
Tink

i agree with Tinkster, just add the other plugins. then change your giftd.conf file to:

plugins = FastTrack:OpenFT:Gnutella

(preserve capitalization)

they all should work, but sometimes it takes a minute or two for one or more of them to kick in. you can monitor the daemon to see what's connecting with giftd -v.

i also run slackware 10 and only have fasttrack installed, it works fine.

start it with...

giftd -p FastTrack -v

should work just fine.
