trying to install a package manager in backtrack2 (slax)

hi there i've installed trackback2 (slax based) and i haven't found a gui package manager only a console based one "slapt-get" and it's not very good i've also found and installed a gtk gui for slapt-get witch makes it A LOT better but it's still not as good as synaptic so what i wanted to know is how do i install a gui package manager like synaptic package manager or smart package manager on slax?

also i've downloaded and tried to install synaptic package manager but when running ./configure i get this error:

"configure: error: You need the apt-pkg headers installed to compile synaptic."

any ideas?

You can not use apt-get in Slackware, it only works in Debian-based distributions.

Slackware (which SLAX/BackTrack is based on) does not contain or support any advanced package manager, slapt-get is as advanced as you are going to get. There is no automatic dependency checking, and there is no (official) package repositories that contain anything but the software on the CD.

so dosn't that make Slackware a pretty crap (no offence) distro when compared to others?

i've also heard that http://www.linuxpackages.net is just about the only option other then Gslapt
