transfer dvds from ogg file to vod file


I am trying to burn dvds. I have the right program (thoggen)the problem is I need to go from a ogg file to a vod file. I can burn onto a disc but it reads as a data file instead of dvd. How can I do this please help. I am new at linux.

I'd try using a DVD authoring program. You can find a list here.

can you tell me more about dvd authoring, I dont know that much about it or the program Qdvd author.

.mpeg .avi .ogg .vob are all video containers. They hold the audio and video information, they are not mixed together like on film or video type. To convert from one format to the another is called transcoding and can be quit messy, especially getting the audio to sync with the video. Some DVD authoring programs will do the transcoding for you, I don't know if ogg to vob is supported by any. Qdvd looks promising, http://directory.fsf.org/vid/manip/QDVD-Author.html but if that does not work, your best solution is to google 'ogg transcode vob' or some variation like that. You might have to include your OS to get results that you can use.
