Tor/privoxy setup

I have a problem here. I can connect to the internet through one specific http-proxy.
I'd like to be able to download torrents. I think it is doable with tor and privoxy.
Only problem is, since I'm in Thailand, tor.eff.org etc are blocked, so I cannot find the install documentation. I was hoping somebody could help me out here. All that needs to be done (...) is routing azureus traffic though a local proxy made by tor or privoxy or something. That is as far as I got. Thanks in advance for the help.

BTW, my connection going like this localhost->router->www.stupidrouterwebsite.com->internet, if this makes any sense at all

use synaptic to install, look at man pages

Hi,

Since you are using Ubuntu, can't you just use the ubuntu repositories to install tor and privoxy via synaptic? Once they are installed, you might be able to read about configuration information from the man pages for these applications. The man pages may also point you to other text files describing the configurations options.

One thing you might want to consider is downloading via tor servers.
You should not do it.
First off, the download bandwidth will be poor.
Secondly, these servers are users like you and I who donate bandwidth and it should be used conservatively.

I don't even want to use tor (and can't because it's slow), but I need my bittorrent packets forwarded to a specific server, it's the only way I can connect to the internet. But I saw in the manual no tor for bittorrent and wouldn't do it anyway. Thanks for the advice. Only thing I'm stuck on right now is proxychains
