tk pop up window is dead

I am using Suse 10.0 on a Athlon 64 bit with 1 gig of memory. The problem in in running a Matlab equivalent program called Scilab which uses the tk/tcl interface for GUI. Everything is working on the program except for the tk pop up windows that are supposed to be an aid on certain commands or functions. Or at least the popup window is not working on the Matlab to Scilab script conversion program mfile2sci. I have checked and the system recognizes X11 and X. The window pops up but then if you click on any of the buttons you get messages such as:

Error: invalid command name "tk::ScreenChanged"

$PATH has the correct path for the X11R6bin directory and it does not appear at first that this is the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did not compile this software but used a mirror site and loaded the rpm and set up under YAST.

more $PATH
/home/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/bin:/usr/games:/opt/gnome/bin
:/opt/kde3/bin:usr/lib/jvm/jre/bin:/usr/lib/mit/bin:/usr/lib/mit/sbin:

Best regards,

Munichtexan
