Hi there --
I have a user who is encountering timeout issues when attempting to retrieve his e-mail from one of our servers. The text shown below is from an e-mail that he recently sent to one our administrators:

Lately, I'm having some difficulty recovering email from <email server>. The POP3 server keeps taking a long time and times out. Then I have to restart outlook express a few times before I get the email - this happens both at home and at work.

The server in question is Sendmail 8.14.1 along with Dovecot 1.0.7 running on a Fedora Core 7 operating system. The MailScanner 4.72.5, SpamAssassin 3.2.5, and ClamAV 94.2 packages work with the server.
I did a test send and receive of a message using another user account that contained an attachment using the SquirrelMail web interface, and there were no apparent problems. There have not been any other calls concerning this issue, so I suspect there could be a problem with the user's mailbox file.
Does anyone concur with this, or is there something else that is more likely at work here? Thanks.
