Sendmail - Connecting to with outlook

Howdy All... man is this a pile of info for n00bs like myself...

Here's My question... I own the domain thehornytoads (i cant post the full domain cause I havent posted 5 times yet...)... and OUT OF THE BOX, everything that i needed worked... I fun a forum, and that transferred over nicely.. now I'm having one problem. I would like to give users pop emails... I only need 3, as we only have 3 site admins... But here's my dilema.. We are using Outlook on windows machines to connect in to the RedHat 9.0 Box... When I try to create an account, it works fine.. It establishes a connection with the pop server (i believe through ipop3 or something close...) I am using my username-on-the-linux-machine@thehornytoads.com as my email... my username is just the first part, and the password is just the linux login password.

Here's the problem. Whenever I actually try to send and recieve email, i get errors... I can't connect to the SMTP server (although I know for a fact that "localhost" emails are sending properly from the forum... And any email I direct at the email address is neither "bounced back" or available to be downloaded into my outlook...

I hope I havent made this too confusing... And I hope that someone out there has an answer for me..

~Jake

Two things.

1. On the unix box type "ps -afe | grep sendmail" - do you see any processes running? If so then

2. On the unix box type "mailq" - do you have mail in the mail queue? If so what is it's status?
