Thunderbird error 5.1.2: no rcpt?

I've been using Thunderbird for some time now with great success, but yesterday I started receiving the following error message when attempting to send mail:

Quote:
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.1.2 Bad or missing RCPT domain 40sm5399713nzf. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.
I've checked my outgoing server settings (which haven't changed) and tried one thing recommended by another forum (changing the port to 465 and the security to SSL) but to no avail.

Thank you.

I also checked my GMail settings and it appeared that the radio button for "enable POP for all mail" had been unchecked. I checked it, saved my settings, and tried to send a message in Thunderbird, but received the same error.

GTBlackwell,

Try checking TLS,if available (instead of SSL)...the port should be 25
