I use free open source privacy Badger (EFF) It needs some setup by site, but that setup also shows you who is tracking you

And unlike adBlock, it does not let adblock friends to come through

The reason I moved to uBlock Origin.

An additional security measure would be to run your browser of choice in a sandbox using Firejail (https://firejail.wordpress.com/).

the reason i use /etc/hosts based blocking.

May I ask how do you block ddns hostnames in a host file?
The random generated mask like what cloudfront uses, name1-name2.host.domain, is there a regex or a wildcard for this?
