Taking screenshot from .mkv

Hey!

I'd like to take screenshots of the same frame from multiple .mkv videos.
(I'm encoding and wanna compare test videos and source for best picture quality).
Planning on writing a shell script, so i don't have to do it manually for each video.
I think it's possible with mplayer, ffmpeg or such to take screenshot of a particular frame or time, just dunno how.
Could someone help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

Never done it myself but I know you can do this with ffmpeg.
