I'm not sure if I'm having a Linux, Windows, or application-specific problem.
I have two machines at my desk at work. One is Ubuntu 8.04.1-Desktop i386, and the other is Windows 2k3 Server (32-bit). The Ubuntu system is acting as a Synergy server, the 2k3 machine is the client.
I have Synergy working beautifully between them (AWESOME program). The only problem I'm having is with screensaver sync. I'm running xscreensaver (versions below) on the Ubuntu box.
When the screensaver starts (or I lock the screen) in Ubuntu, the screensaver comes on the Windows box, but it only comes on for a second or less, then goes back the desktop. After that, the Windows screensaver will not load, no matter how long it is idle. I also cannot get them to lock together.
The 2k3 machine will go to screensaver on its own.
Here are package versions that I believe to be relevant:
Code:
ii xscreensaver 5.04-4ubuntu1
ii xscreensaver-data 5.04-4ubuntu1
ii xscreensaver-data-extra 5.04-4ubuntu1
ii xscreensaver-gl 5.04-4ubuntu1
ii xscreensaver-gl-extra 5.04-4ubuntu1
ii synergy 1.3.1-2ubuntu2
Here is my synergy.conf:
Code:
$ cat /etc/synergy.conf
section: screens
timg:
timg-win:
end
section: links
timg:
right = timg-win
timg-win:
left = timg
end
I don't know where synergy keeps it's logs, if someone can help me find them I'll post that as well.
Thanks,
Tim
