Synaptic question

I have added many packages to the Synaptic install list since I installed Mepis 7.0 on my main PC. I want to install Mepis 7.0 on another machine and then use Synaptic to install all of the additional packages I had selected aqnd added on the first machine.

Is there a way to save the "install selections"?

Under Synaptic I have tried to use file->Save Markings
but it produces a file with zero bytes. Does not seem to work.

Can find nothing in the manual about these menu options....does it work?

Am I using it wrong?

Is there some other way to save the entire list of files that have been installed under Synaptic?

The option you want in Synaptic Package Manager is: 'Generate Package Download Script'
