Synaptic/apt-get Question

I am pretty much a Linux newbie, I've been using Santa Fe Linux which is a Debian Sarge based distro. I have been using Synaptic to install some new packages, but I think something I installed messed my system up a bit. Not much, but the mouse will freeze up periodically, etc. My question is: Is there some place on the system to get a list of packages that I have installed with Synaptic? I can't remember what I've installed, and if I had a list I could probably figure it out and then remove the offending package. I checked out the man pages for Synaptic and apt-get, also the command line help for apt-get, and this doesn't seem to be an option. Just wondering if there was some other way?

Cheers,
Quimby

Hi,
Synaptic allows you to view all packages, installed or available ones.

How much memory do you have installed?

I have 1 GB of memory on the machine. Thanks for the help so far, but I didn't really make my question clear. What I really wanted to know is there a way to view a list of recently installed packages, or a list of total packages by installation date? Just curious

Thanks,
quimby
