switch unmount for eject in gnome?

Gnome supports unmounting/ejecting drives on the desktop. For some devices it uses unmount and others it uses eject. Most of the time their decision makes sense.

But when I try to disconnect my iPod, i need to issue the eject command so it safely disconnects and stops showing the "Do Not Disconnect" warning, unmount does not suffice. Unfortunately, my iPod shows up as a firewire device in gnome, so it only offers the unmount command.

Does anyone know how to change this? I already have it automounted (udev/hal/dbus/gvm), I'd like an easy way to eject it too.

Thanks,
Aaron

this says remove the module

i don't use gnome but one simple thing to do is a desktop link that runs a command like this
and just click it after umount
(i use rxvt as term so that's what i put)
rxvt -e su -c 'rmmod sbp2'
should be able to just type in root passwrd and bingo done

You misunderstand my plight. I actually have sbp2 compiled in the kernel. It works just fine without removing the module as long as I eject the device (not just unmount it). My problem is that gnome will only let me unmount it by right clicking on the drive and I was wondering if I could change this setting in gnome so that I can right click on the drive and have it run `eject` instead of `umount`.

Thanks,
Aaron
