Suse 10.0 HTTP problem

I have seen similar threads in the forum for this problem but the solutions to them don't seem to fix mine. I have setup the HTTP server in yast and got the apache2 up and running but when I try to access my site from any computer even when I use my linux box I get:

Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 403

I added an index.html to the document root and looked at the files and none of them are read-protected. Please help me.

Thanks.

i had same issue and i coulnt find the way to diable the secuirty or errors. i suggest either compiling apache 2 from source or simpl not using suse for web server. suse isnt realy meant to be a web server, it is a home desktop and office desktop not a server, now i am in same boat and my only true solution was:

suse on a desktop and built a second server on fedora core 3

augnet.homedns.org hosted from fedora and loving it.
