I'm using grub on fc5 (first time with grub), and in my logwatch which pops up in my mail box I happened to notice that my /boot sector is 99M's using 11M! seems a bit crazy to me, but who am I to complain?
anyway's, my question; given my /boot sector is so big, how insane do you think I could go for my grub bootloader background screen? lol, I know it's a highly technical issue requiring only the greatest of minds! What's your honest opinion, stick with boring old one color background, or attempt to stick in a small mpeg of girls gone wild. lol
Now, just to be clear I'm not referring to the log in screen, the one before it where you are given the choice between kernels.
I wouldn't waste too much time on pics for the grub splash image that is displayed for 15 seconds.
Last time I checked, it used a max of 14 colors.
Besides, the running contest is to see how long your Linux can go without a reboot.
I dont leave my computer on at night because the space heater in my bedroom is on the same circuit. the space heater I have works awesome, but the draw back is if i leave the computer on and the heater at the same time I run the risk of an electricle fire,, or far worse, irreparible damage to my new computer. seeing as when i turn the space heater on, my room lights go dim, I dont want to take the chance. lol time for a new apartment. I was just curious about the grub, and you've been vary helpfull,,, thx
