streaming webcam server

Please recommend some software for me . All I want to do is hook my webcam up to my linux server, and stream video to my webbrowser. I'd rather it not be gui, i like to work from the command line. I'd like it to be as easily configurable as camserv. I used to use camserv, but when I moved to a newer box and installed fedora, it doesnt seem to work anymore. It just shows a black screen with timestamp. It does give me an error :
"Failed with RGB, trying YUV420P"..

Any suggestions ?

Fedora Core 4
Kernel 2.6.15-1.1831_FC4

thx.. i ended up installina palantir last night. I have figured out its not a software problem w/camserv.

Anytime i start palantir (or any software trying to use webcam) i get the following msg in log file:

drivers/usb/media/ov511.c: Invalid channel (1)

it also tells me :

[video] RGB palette unavailable, using YUV

lsmod|grep video shows me:

video 16197 0
videodev 9665 1 ov511

I have updated the ov511 driver to ov511-2.31.

My system is:

Pentium Celeron 2.4
Fedora Kernel - 2.6.15-1.1831_FC4
webcam - Creative webcam pro mode PD1030

The camera works, but does not show video, just shows a greyish/brown screen.

Any suggestions to get we pointed in the right direction would be appreciated ?
