Apparently, Minitab also works in Linux with Wine 0.92 or higher.

i searched using "minitab linux" and "spss linux" as my terms.

I think you'll find that SPSS runs on a great many platforms.

If you are seriously involved in statistics, then I think that "the best statistics package for your job," whatever that is, definitely qualifies as a "killer app."

A "killer app" is something that you buy hardware and/or operating-systems specifically in order to run that app. For example, if you 'like' to run Linux but you 'need' to run SPSS, and you choose to run (say) an existing Win32-based license that you have, then one possibility is to transport thy derierre forthwith to the local electronics store and buy a Windows laptop (say...) just so that you can "run that app."

(As a matter of fact, I am perfectly serious, and I have not yet gone to the pub.)
