Statistical programming languages

Hi there, i would like to know what kind of statistical programming languages exist for Linux and its features.

The two languages that I found in my searching were SAS, and R. It appears that SAS is a purchase, though, I don't think it's free.. R, however, is free.

Now, I don't know anything about these, but Here is the link for R. As for SAS, I'll leave that up to you to find.. (=
