Startup script shows on Desktop

To get Compiz-Fusion to launch in OpenSUSE 10.2 when the machine is booted, I use a very simple script (just consisting of the term "fusion-icon") in ~/.kde/Autostart. (I'm using KDE in OpenSUSE 10.2)
Now while the script does what it's supposed to do, its text file (in KWrite) appears and stays on the Desktop.
What can I do to get this script to do its job WITHOUT showing up on the Desktop?
Thanks
Paul

The file name in Autostart probably has an extension that tells KDE to associate that file with KWrite. Try removing the file name extension.

Thanks.
My startup script is called ,appropriately I think, "start.script" so the extension is ".script".
OK, so I renamed it to just "start" but its behaviour remained exactly the same i.e. compiz-fusion starts perfectly on boot but the start script still shows up in a KWrite window.
Note that my script was created in KWrite and consists solely of the term "fusion-icon".
It would be interesting to know if anybody else has, or has not, got this problem and how their startup scripts (in ~/.kde/Autostart/) look, what editors were used to create the scripts etc.
Thanks
Paul

Since you only have one line in your script you could replace the script with a link. My system doesn't have the compiz-fusion file so I don't know where it is located but if it were located in /usr/X11R6 then you could do this.
Code:
cd ~/.kde/Autostart
rm start
ln -s /usr/X11R6/compiz-fusion compiz-fusion

Well, that's a lot better.
I tried the link and the KWrite window no longer appears on the Desktop.
Just one thing, though. Now TWO (2) icons for Compiz-Fusion appear in the tray like I have it running twice. Why two?
BTW, the link I used was
Code:
ln -s /usr/bin/fusion-icon fusion-icon
while in the ~/.kde/Autostart/ directory
Thanks a lot for this tip
Paul
