i cannot start Limewire normally, I can only start limewire thru the terminal console.
at /usr/LimeWire
with this command
java -jar RunLime.jar
is there a easiler way to start limewire with a application link? i tried creating a link but it doesn't work. I think it's because .jar files are not associated with JAVA. how do I make that happen?
just make a symbolic link in /usr/LimeWire to java with the parameters attached to it, no? then maybe link to that on the desktop or whereever? would that work?
Depends on which one was installed I believe. I have used both, and with the .tar.gz version, I couldn't "simply" do that. But the .bin version did work similar to that... Hence the question, which one?
And I never issued java commands to start mine either, it was either runlime.sh or something similar.
Oh, um, I meant, yeah, that should work. Excellent suggestion there exigent.
No really, actually it does sound decent, and I don't see why it wouldn't work, but the only problem I see is that the parameters: java -jar
have to be issued along with the filename, this wouldn't be so easy to do I'd think, depending on which window manager they use and such. Anyway, there is a thread in which I asked how to make a desktop icon for Limey... I will hunt it down and post a link to it, maybe that'll help.
Mik is very good with my questions, he, along with a few others, are what got me hooked here. He was very 'clear' and 'friendly' when answering my questions, even if they were the same old crap. Anyway, here's the link: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hlight=runlime
