Starting Jack ... about that.....


[golo@localhost ~]$ jackd -d alsa
jackd 0.116.1

JACK compiled with System V SHM support.
loading driver ..
creating alsa driver ... hw:0|hw:0|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
control device hw:0
the playback device "hw:0" is already in use. Please stop the application using it and run JACK again
cannot load driver module alsa





Any ideas or suggestions?

Try doing
Code:
golo@localhost: fuser /dev/dsp
and see what you get. And if you are using a gui, might I suggest qjackctl.

Thanks for your quick response,

I used qjackctl as root and Jack started, however it gave an error,

"Could not open ALSA sequencer as a client. ALSA MIDI patchbay will be not available."
