start jack sound server as normal user

Hi.Ive just installed Jack and Ardour and Jamin.Jamin wouldnt start as normal user as it couldnt start Jack..easy sudo jamin and no problems. With Ardour run as sudo it cant start because jack has to be started as sudo.easy again sudo qjackctl and start it.All good but how do I run jack and its frontend qjackctl as a normal user?Which files do I need to chmod and is it chmod u+s that would fix it?This is all running on Slackware12.I have added the ramfs line to /etc/fstab as stated in the README file for jack and it runs perfectly whith sudo so I know its a permissions problem. Thanks in anticipation..

Did you mean to mark this "[SOLVED]"?

If so, kindly post the solution -- even though this is an old post, it still might help someone else w/ the same, or a similar, problem.

BTW, W(TF) are "Jack and Ardour and Jamin" -- links might be helpful to your readers.
