Sound in .MOV files

Hi, a friend of mine gave me a .mov file to watch. The picture is OK, but the sound is skipping. Every 1-2 seconds it stops and resumes again. I tried it in Kaboodle, Noatun, Xine. In WIndows it works OK, so the file is not corrupted. Probably this is a Linux codec issue.
I have Slackware 10.2, 2.4.31, KDE 3.4.2.
I think need a codec update but I don't know where I can get it from. Can you provide any links, please. Or may be there are some setting that I have to make. Thanks

Get the all codec packages from the Mplayer site a this page:

http://www4.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/codecs.html

And use kmplayer or VLC (Videolan) players to playback the .Mov.
