I have already posted this on the Debian forum but I am not sure it was the correct place.

I have installed simplymepis 3.3 on my hard drive but when I boot up I get the message:

grub error 17

and then nothing happens.

the /boot/grub/menu.lst is as follows:

there are two hd icons on the desttop

hda1, which has usr etc
hda3 lost+found user dicretory etc

I do not not what scsi, but I am sure my machine does not have one;

Machine configuration
AMD K2 500
RAM 386
10 g harddrive

any advice well be most welcome

i had the same problem with my first intallation onto my hardrive. i reinstalled mepis onto my hard drive and i had no peolem with it after the second time around.
