Set files as hidden in Konqueror

Hi,

How do you make files/folders hidden in konqueror? There's a few config files which are displayed in my home folder (not hidden files) which I want out of the way of my documents, pictures, etc.

Any ideas? In windows you just rightclick > Properties and click 'Hidden'

How do you do it in KDE? (SUSE 10.1)

AFAIK, you don't. There is no file system tag for "hidden" files in Linux--a file with a name starting with "." is hidden; a file starting with anything else is not. You could rename a file to start with ".", but then whatever program was configured to look for that file wouldn't know its new name.

My "solution" was to create a "documents" directory within ~ and use that to store all my stuff rather than directly within ~, where all sorts of clutter may get saved.
