screensaver doesn't work anymore since installing rdesktop

RedHat9-Shrike on an I686 >> my screensaver ran well but since I've installed rdesktop it doesn't work anymore. The screensaver ("blank screen") works as long as I don't start my rdesktop, really!! I know it sounds very strange but the screensaver always activates itself when I'm working in my kde-environment, but as soon as I just open a new connection to a rdp-windows-server with "rdesktop"....
it won't activate itself anymore... and it doesn't let itself be activated anymore manually, too...
does anyone of you know this error? I'm using the "blank screen".... how can I uninstall this screensaver to install it again.. (maybe that could help)...
is there a bug in "rdesktop"...?
why is "rdesktop" affecting my sreensaver in kde? for me, ...this error seems very strange
