Running file under https

I'm using an Apache server that runs http and https. I need have a webpage be accessable via https. How do I do this? Do I put something in the .htaccess file?

Also, it's for a directory that contains several php files that work together. Is there any problem passing things via forms when using https?

I apologize for asking such a basic question, but I've looked around and can't seem to find the answer. Thanks!

No; you just use https: as the URL. Assuming that you've set up HTTPS correctly, it will work. The documentation should be installed on your computer as part of the Apache distribution.

No; this is what HTTPS is designed to do. All data will be protected from third-parties by whatever key you're using on the server.

If you have difficulties getting HTTPS to work, then you could just run normal HTTP over an SSL tunnel; try looking at www.stunnel.org; you need to forward connections on port 443 (https) to port 80 (http) through the SSL tunnel.
