running BitTorrent after installation (Mandrake 10)

I just downloaded BitTorrent, extracted the .gz file and added the line in my /etc/mailcap file that they tell you to add, but when I go to download something and hit open with bit torrent nothing happens. This is what I have in my /etc/mailcap file:

application/x-bittorrent; /home/username/bittorrent/BitTorrent-3.2.1b/btdownloadgui.py %s --responsefile %s; test=test -n "$DISPLAY"

See if downloading the .torrent file and running
btdownloadcurses.py file.torrent

works.

i find azureus preferrable to the official bittorrent client. much easier to manage torrents.
