Running a program with wine.

I tried running a 3D application with wine and got this message:

[root@bigserver bin]# wine maya.exe

err:seh:start_debugger Couldn't start debugger ("winedbg --auto 13 136") (2)
Read the Wine Developers Guide on how to set up winedbg or another debugger

Anyone know how to run this 3D program with Wine, or isn't it possible?

I'm running Fedora Core 4, Wine version 0.9.13.

Thank you in advance,

Chuong.

You can try running 'winecfg' and setting a different Windows version. That sometimes works with some programs.

Since the product is available for Linux, perhaps you should consider a native license then?

What do you mean by native license?

I have it for my Windows, but I want to run it on Linux.

--------------------------------******

Notice the last line of the error output:

"Read the Wine Developers Guide on how to set up winedbg or another debugger
"

You know how to set up the debugger?

Maya is available for Linux (without WINE), so getting it to work under WINE is not going to be anyone's priority.

If you are interested in debugging WINE, then as the message says, read the Wine Developers Guide. You can forward any patches you develop to the WINE bug tracking system.
