Run drivers and login automatically in text-based mode!

Hi All,
NOw I am trying to test the Embedded board. I would like to run files(drivers :LCD Display and Keypad) and Login automatically when I switch-on the power supply. Anybody have any good guide to deal with this case?

I can make for auto-root-login by making some change in inittab file in order to run the auto-login file. But I don't know how to do for run driver automatically. Because I would like to use 4 X 4 keypad and 2 lines LCD Display instead of Keyboard and Monitor. SO I need to make the drivers and need to run it automatically when the kernel is booting.

Thanks for your time and considerations!

Best Regards,
Kyaw Kyaw.

HI all,
I am Kyaw Kyaw from Myanmar working @ singapore. I would like to ask some questions regarding to Embedded Linux.

I am using TS-7200 board from www.embeddedarm.com and it is based on arm processor EDB-9302 and using TS-Kernel and its version is 2.4.23. It is based on red-hat linux and also comed with the cross toolchains for desktop development.

There is no compilers installed on the board. So I have to develop the driver in the Host computer by using Fedora (release 5) and Eclipse. The communication between TS-7200 and host computer is mainly RS-232 and also can be established by Network (telnet or ftp).

I would like to run some binaries while the board is booting( I would like to see the booting mesg through the LCD Display instead of RS-232 communication). I don't want to use another computer (Keyboard and Display(Monitor)) and TS-7200 should be run independent of the Host computer. To do so, I have to run LCD driver and Keypad driver during the linux kernel is booting in order to see the boot mesg from LCD display.

Now I can change some settings in inittab file for automatic login by using simple program( I got from google search and it's cool). But I don't know how to make sure to run drivers during the board is booted. So could anybody can solve my problem?

The link for TS-7200 resources is as follows:
http://www.embeddedarm.com/linux/ARM.htm

Thanks for your considerations and time.

Best Regards,
kyawkyaw.
