RPM Usage

i was rading in the RPM MAN page which says that in order to view the config file for a package , you use -c option. i have XINE media player and i needed to modify something in it's config file .... i typed this in the shell :

[root@Fedora ~]# rpm -q xine
xine-0.99.3-4.1.fc3
[root@Fedora ~]# rpm -c xine

instead of showing the logfile location , i get the help page ..... anyone can help me with this ?????

"-c" is under query options. You have to have "-q" first to use it, like "rpm -qc xine"

You also have to remember that not all apps will have config files so you may not get any output after running "rpm -qc appname".

Little problem

thanks first. i know that xine has a config file .... or at least that's what was written in www.xinehq.com ..... i added a new library and i need to modify the config file to point at it. i will show you my shell output and probably you can help me :

[root@Fedora /]# rpm -q xine
xine-0.99.3-4.1.fc3
[root@Fedora /]# rpm -qc xine
[root@Fedora /]#

as you see that i'm getting no output which means that the xine has no config file to configure ... but i read in LQ that there is a config file to modify ..... thanks ..
