Riptide

hello, i am having some issues with the linuxant drivers for my riptide audio card. it uses conexant cips.... so this is the correct driver. I got the drivers from here. i am running SuSe 8.2.. so i got the rpm for suse 8.2. installed it and ran "ripconfig" it said it was successful. so i rebooted and it dont work. i went and got the original source, followed the instructions and it still dont work. am i doing something wrong? has anyone ever installed these drivers before? and questions/comments would be appreciated.

EDIT: heres my modules.conf file.... i think there may be a problem in there.... can someone look it over and tell me what to do? (im lost)

Do the following
first comment out the following (like below in your modules.conf)
#alias char-major-14 off
#alias sound off
#alias midi off
next
change
Code:
alias /dev/dsp* riptidelow
alias /dev/sound/dsp* riptidelow
alias /dev/mixer* riptidelow
alias /dev/sound/mixer* riptidelow
to
Code:
alias /dev/dsp riptidelow
alias /dev/sound/dsp riptidelow
alias /dev/mixer riptidelow
alias /dev/sound/mixer riptidelow
After this check lsmod again
If everything is ok
check your mixer
choose any mixer like
aumix
Now you are ready
take any wav file say x.wav
do x.wav > /dev/dsp
Is there sound now?

i dont even see where that is commented. but i did the other step you gave me... but, the three aliases (sound, midi and char-major-14) i see under the OSS section are not commented.
