Rhel 5.11 samba issues

I've upgraded a number of RHEL 5 servers from 5.4 to 5.11. I'm having issues now where if I create a file on the shared drive, the permissions for the files or folders created belong to nobody, and the nobody group.

If I use a RHEL 4 or CentOS 7 server and try and create a file on the shared drive, everything belongs to the samba user as it should.

All the RHEL 5.11 servers have the samba drive added to /etc/fstab like this

//xxx.x.xx/samba cifs /samba user=sambauser,password=xxxx,,noperm,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777 0 0

Anyone have any ideas?
