Removing an old version of glib - rpm question

I posted this in 'newbie' but it didn't get any responses so we'll try here.

I'm getting this error:

Quote:
*** 'pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0' returned 2.2.3, but GLIB (2.2.1)
*** was found! If pkg-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of GLib. You may also be able to fix the error
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If pkg-config was wrong, set the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH
*** to point to the correct configuration files
no
And all I really need to know how to do is remove my old version of glib 2.2.1 - Any tips?

how was it installed? Did you compile it from source, of did you use an rpm? [if it's redhat, then it most likely came installed as an rpm]

I'm pretty sure it was installed when I installed redhat. It was version 2.2.1

If you don't mind, where can I get a listing of rpms installed on the system? up2date isn't working at all for me.
