rejoin splitted avi file ...


hello ,
i downloaded some files in the format *.avi.00 , *.avi.01 , *.avi.02 .... which is obviouse that this is one avi file that was splitted ... and the questions is how can i rejoin it ...(any good apps or tools) ,

The following should work from the command line:

Look at the size of the files.
ls -l basename.avi.*

The file with the extension .00 may not be a part of the avi file. If it is a lot smaller than the others, this is probably the case. Remove it or move it somewhere else before cat'ing the file together.
It may be a good idea to list the files first. Just in case the pattern includes other files you don't want.

ex:
ls basename.avi.*
basename.avi.01
basename.avi.02
basename.avi.03
basename.avi.par2

In this case, "case basename.avi.[[:digit:]][[:digit:]] >basename.avi" would use a better pattern.
