We don't tell members this type of stuff and this can get you banned from being a part of this site. If you don't have anything valuable to help this person, then keep those types of opinions to yourself.

now with your soundcard problem or sndconfig.. does this happen in a terminal or from the command ? have you thought about maybe updating your version of redhat ?

PS bripage, You have a problem with being nice, then find a new forum to use.

We have debates in the Distro forum for opinions but we try not to start wars. Opinions are welcome but when you reply to someone in need with just a that sucks, that doesn't help them or anyone else here. Either try to help or don't reply at all.

Arrow Thanks and update

I had the problem in run progam window. Went to termianl and did get the sndconfig up. It give me a resource conflict. I will have to dig and see if I can find out why.
Secondly, I have thought about upgrade, Just have RH6.0 and have books on it. I have wondered if a later version would make my books obsolete or if most info would still be valuable to me.
as to why I have RH, it is the only distro that I have tried so far that would run on this MB, Video card, combo. Mandrake 8.1 just plain drove me crazy. I am sure it would be fine on some other machine. I have Slack 8.0 but have not tried to install it yet. It looks Hard!! I will find my niche in the Linux world yet! Thanks for the help.

Still a little lost but starting to see glimmers of light at the end of the tunnel.
