recompile modules under sarge

Hello,

I need to recompile and install my modules in the /lib folder, but not the kernel. Is it possible to recompile only the modules from .config without the kernel, and how? I am using Debian-sarge.

The kernel source has this nice feature for the Makefile .

Presents me "modules" .

also

modules_install - Install all modules to INSTALL_MOD_PATH (default: /)

make could have the DESTDIR environment variable, too.

Do run a nearly "plain" sarge or an mostly upgraded one ?
Had sarge once on PIII 800MHz, 128MB RAM. Cannot remember kernel version.
