RAR to ZIP converter

Hi,

I need to extract some rar files on Linux, previously I used to use rar to zip converter, which so far has worked for me but now I need to unrar files in batch, can anyone please tell me if there's a native rar to zip converter on Linux?

Thanks in advance.

You can extract rar files with p7zip:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/p7zip/files/

Do you want to extract your rar archives or do you want to convert them to zip? That isn't clear to me.
If you just want to extract your archives you don't need to convert them to zip first, you can extract them with the unrar program.

Is there a reason you can't just use the Linux version of WinRAR?

You can use a linux unrar then pipe to a zip (like gzip or tar even)in same line. If you want you can create a script that uses some table or file that contains the files you want to convert and put that on the same line too.

It is interesting that every time one of these threads comes along everyone recommends proprietary closed source options, and that's the only thing the OP accepts anyway. Interesting, but not good, IMO.
