problems with cdrecord, im using fedora core 3 distro...


i've been trying to fix this problem yesterday, until today i just dont know what's wrong with my set-up..im a noob in linux, and i want to burn data file but im getting this reply from cdrecord:"cdrecord: Cannot fixate disk."..what does that imply...this is the command i used

cdrecord -v -eject -data dev=ATA:1,1,0 speed=4 perplexity.txt

i checked my cdrecorder (cdrecord -scanbus) and this is what i get...

First guess would be that FC3 is no longer supported(older buggy version of cdrecord). Support for all versions of FC prior to FC5 was dropped last August(?). Support for FC5 will be dropped in June(?).

so, shifting distro is the option?? omg...lol...you mean, the cdrecord that im using is buggy??

I do not know for sure. But being 4 versions behind the curve leaves you with a limited pool of people who will know.
