You have to open the makefile in a text editor and READ it. Sorry - no royal road on this one.
You'll have to go slowly because most makefiles use a lot of variables. They are usually well documented. You are looking for a line with both those libraries in it.

Read up on gcc and make.

i did ./configure then opened up the Makefile and replaced /usr/lib with /usr/local/lib by ctrl + r in kate and all compiled & installed fine. Thanks, that little bit of advice of where to go helped me out, thanks

Well done!
Reading and editing the makefile was really intimidating my first time. After a while I got used to it. There may even have been a config option to set the lib path... before config files, editing the makefile was routine.

I have given up on GAdminSuid and webmin since no GUI works for me.
I hope this will work for you and you dont need to use delay pools as they are not supported here as yet.
