Hello, I hope somebody can help me with this.
I'm trying to build xfce following the instructions from xfce.org
Code:
If you have downloaded the tarballs, you need to unpack them before going on.
If you install into a different prefix from pkg-config, you have to set the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable to include the path to the *.pc files installed by the Xfce libraries, which is ${prefix}/lib/pkgconfig. For example:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
To build the modules from the tarballs just run:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local && make && make install
So I downloaded and unpacked all the tarballs, then I tried to run the commands to build the first package (exo-0.3).
Code:
$./configure && make && make install
and throws this message:
The required package gtk+-2.0 was not found on your system.
Please install gtk +-2.0 (at least version 2.6.0) or adjust the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that pkg-config is able to find it.
I modified my PKG_CONFIG_PATH and it is now like this:
/usr/lib/qt/lib/pkgconfig/:/usr/lib/pkgconfig/:/etc/gtk:/etc/gtk-2.0/:/usr/lib:/etc/gtk-2.0/i486-slackware-linux/
As you can notice reading the above, I'm using slackware (13.0 to know).
I just added every possible path to PKG_CONFIG_PATH to make it work but it didn't, what am I missing?, I know gtk 2.10 is installed to my system so it can't be that I'm missing gtk.
