Question Problem with Lilo-bootloader!

Hi!
I have just install Slackware 12.2, and I am quite satisfied as far.
My main issue right now is the fact that I can`t modify my lilo.conf.
I am only running one OS, and I don`t find it necessary to wait for 2 min to automatic boot Linux. Ofcourse I can press <ENTER>, but I really want the booting to go faster then now whithout pressing <ENTER>.

I tried to change the etc/lilo.conf like this:

1.
prompt
timeout=1200 to 80

2.
# prompt
# timeout

But the timeout is still at 2 min when i reboot.

Anybody having experience whith this issu?

have a nice day!

You mustn't have been root when you edited it. Open lilo.conf using this command in Konsole:
Code:
kdesu kwrite /etc/lilo.conf
Edit it. Save. Exit KWrite. Then, as root, in Konsole run:
Code:
lilo
