problem installing VLC in SUSE 10.1

I downloaded the RPM for VLC to install in SUSE 10.1. After tracking down and installing all kinds of files that pop up when Zen-installer does its "resolving dependencies" thing, I think I'm finally at a point that the install should go through. Now I get this message- "Resolvable id 356005 does not exist." Anybody out there got a suggestion.

Guess what! I let the computer sit for a while and tried again. This time it gave me some more dependencies. I kept at it and after downloading three or four more RPMs and once again letting the computer sit for a while I finally got it.

I don't use SUSE, but all the RPM distributions have two levels of tools to allow you to install new software. The higher level tool checks and resolves dependencies for you automatically.

I believe SUSE gives you two to choose from: YaST and SMART. Judging from comments I see posted, YaST seems to be the more popular.
