exclude the packages

Hi,

you simply can exclude these packages for the first time !!
I searched fpr the depedencies and did not find the packages or had newer versions installed.
For me it runs without the following packages:
cdiinfo
libvcd
vcdimager*

ciao

I have installed VLC 8.1 on FC3 using the "videolan-client-0.8.1-1.1.fc3.rf.i386.rpm" and everything "built" properly and functions fine so far. There is an icon in the Applications>Sound & Video menu >VideoLAN Media Player.

I've set the icon to my Gnome desktop panel for easy access.Have also just recently installed Xine and have it running comfortably also.

hi all,

i have worked with VLC Media Player in a Project and i have compiled VLC from source too and also installed by RPM............

best is to go with RPMs........

in Videolan Download site itself u will find the needed Dependencies RPM like ffmpeg and others.......if u dont have those RPMS installed, pls do install them and then install VLC...install the 3rd party libraries (dependencies for VLC) as,

rpm --ivh --force --nodeps <file-name>

and then vlc rpm................

without the 3rd party libraries,u cant expect VLC to work properly..

with regards,
C.C.Chakkaradeep
